Extracurriculars: Academic studies at Bucerius will be balanced by a selection of interesting extracurricular activities. The International Office would like to better acquaint students with Hamburg, Germany, German history, politics, and culture. Thus, to accompany law lectures, the International Office organizes several activities that will help students get to know their new surroundings. The activities offered include guided tours in and around Hamburg, visits to museums and theaters, lectures about the German political system and the current political situation, one-day excursions to Lübeck, a study day at the International Tribunal for the Law of the Sea and several social events with Bucerius students. During the week-long break in the academic program, Bucerius offers a study trip to Berlin and Potsdam to a limited number of students. This trip offers students the unique opportunity to see Berlin and Potsdam in a way that would normally be very difficult to organize. After experiencing a full program at such low cost, students have expressed great satisfaction with the trip in past years. German Language Courses: During the program Bucerius offers German language courses. The classes stretch over 20 lessons (2 x 90 min a week). The instructors are all trained teachers of German as a foreign language. The German courses will be offered at four levels and comes at an extra cost. The placement test/interview will take place during the Orientation Program.
