Bucerius worldwide – Photo competition

The mandatory semester abroad is a special part of the curriculum for Bucerius students: each fall, undergrads in their third year of study pack their bags and spread out across the world for a term abroad at one of our 90 partner universities.

An atmosphere of new beginnings prevails among the students, fueling wanderlust among those who remain in Hamburg. Thanks to Facebook, Instagram and the students’ blog “Around the Globe with Gerd,” the rest of the Law School can at least catch a glimpse into lecture rooms in Buenos Aires, weekend trips to Komodo National Park and university life in India. In order to bring all the memories and adventures back to campus and share them with the Bucerius community, the LLB class who was abroad organizes an exhibition with snaps from their time away.

Prints hang in the campus coffee lounge and the International Office invites students to participate in a photo competition with the top three photographers receiving prizes. On March 8, the entering class of 2014 came together to honor this year’s winners during an award ceremony with pretzels and beer. Congratulations go to Leonard Sonner (University of Cambridge), Till Schmid (Singapore Management University) and Jakob Rehder (Stellenbosch University)!
