The Hengeler Mueller Library of Bucerius Law school was established in 2000 and carries the name of its sponsor, a renown law firm with offices in Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Berlin, Brussels and London.
The Library is the center for legal information in the form of printed materials and electronic resources. It is supported by the customer-oriented services of an extremely professional library staff. It serves, in combination with 16 subject-specific libraries, exclusively as the information provider for our students, academic researchers and professors and is permanently open. With 560 work stations, our customers have an optimal environment for studying, research and continued education.
The library is large enough to hold 85,000 periodicals and academic resources, available in print and electronic form 2.355. Legal online databases are liscensed campus wide and include Beck-Online, Lexis-Nexis, Westlaw International, Juris, Makrolog and HeinOnline. A cooperation agreement with the Central Law Library of Hamburg University and the Library of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law offers our customers access to these resources as well.
The library team supports the main library and the subject-specific libraries as well as all user groups with services such as interlending, information services, individual database training, periodical circulation and university-level bibliography. The library offers educational training through internships. The use of rooms, work spaces or printed materials and electronic sources by external parties is not possible.
