Bucerius Law School

Studying at Germany's top-ranked law school

Bucerius Law School is Germany's first private law school. After its foundation in 2000, it quickly established its position as the top-ranked law school and has maintained this rank since 2008.

Bucerius Law School was founded by the ZEIT-Stiftung Ebelin und Gerd Bucerius, one of Germany's largest private foundations. Located on its own little green campus in central Hamburg, it offers perfect conditions for international students to make the most of their studies as well as their time in Germany's second-largest city.

Top marks in the CHE Ranking

The prestigious CHE University Ranking has repeatedly awarded top marks to Bucerius Law School, commending it for its first-rate study conditions and excellent student-to-professor ratio.

The school is particularly known for its German-taught law degree program, which leads up to the First German State Examination.

The English-taught programs offered by Bucerius Law School include the Master of Law and Business (LL.M./MLB) and three intensive Summer Programs.

"Seemingly overnight the Bucerius Law School has established itself as the most elite - though perhaps the only elite - law school in Germany."
