Biography
Frank Saliger, born 1964 in Hadamar, in the district of Limburg-Weilburg (Hesse), holds the Chair for Criminal Law, Law of Criminal Procedure and Philosophy of Law.
After studying law at Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt/Main with a scholarship from the German National Academic Foundation (Studienstiftung des DeutschenVolkes), interrupted briefly by community service at the Department of Industrial Law and Tax Law at the head quarters of the German Equal Charitable Institution (Deutscher Paritätischer Wohlfahrtsverband), he passed the First State Examination in 1991 and the Second State Examination in 1994. During the summer semester of 1994 he worked as a teaching and research associate at the Chair for Legal Philosophy and Sociology of Law at Saarland University, after which he supported the Chair of Criminology and Philosophy of Law at Frankfurt University with his work as a teaching and research associate until 2003.
In 1999 he earned his doctorate in Criminal Law and Philosophy of Law on the topic "The Formula according to Radbruch and the Constitutional State". In 2003 he earned his post-doctorate in Business Commercial Law on the topic "Law of Parties and Criminal Law. Concerning punishability of the breach of Law of Parties, particularly because of embezzlement according to § 288 German criminal Code (StGB)". In 2003 and 2004 he also worked as a substitute for the Chairs of Criminal Law at Bielefeld University and Saarland University.
Frank Saliger puts his main emphasis in his research on the Particular Part of Criminal Law as well as on Commercial Criminal Law, Medical Criminal Law, Law of Criminal Procedure and Philosophy of Law.
