The fellowship is again available to a student from a qualifying university attending the Bucerius Master of Law and Business program. The Venable Foundation Fellowship is designed to recognize an American student who has demonstrated academic success, as well as significant leadership potential, in the field of international law and/or business.

“We are delighted to announce the Venable Foundation Fellowship, which reflects the Bucerius institutions’ commitment to international legal education and supporting tomorrow’s leaders,” says Dr. Nina Smidt, President of American Friends of Bucerius.  “Venable LLP and the Venable Foundation have long been valued supporters of the Bucerius mission, and we’re thrilled to offer this fellowship together with such a well-respected law firm. We especially want to thank Jim Hanks and Mark Vecchio, partners at Venable, for their support for Bucerius over many years and for their work in securing this generous grant.”

Venable lawyers and staff devote time, money, and talent to helping the communities in which they live and work. Venable’s continuing commitment to social responsibility includes financial support through the Venable Foundation. Every year, the foundation provides more than $2 million in support to charities and organizations, putting the firm in the top five law firms nationally in terms of charitable donations. Venable LLP is an AmLaw 100 Firm with approximately 800 lawyers in Baltimore, Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, and Washington, DC.

All students who have attended the law schools listed here may apply for the Venable Foundation Fellowship, and are eligible for consideration based upon their completed and admitted application to the Master of Law and Business program at Bucerius Law School and the completed Venable Foundation Scholarship Application 2019.
