He has been awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation German Chancellor’s Fellowship for the year 2016-17, and is currently being hosted by the Center for Transnational IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy at Bucerius Law School.
His topic relates to two recently published articles. Banerjee will discuss the boundaries between “inspiration”, protecting intangible cultural heritage and pursuing outright piracy in the field of Bollywood media. A particular focus will be the specifics of the highly interesting Indian judicial system and the obstacles one may face when pursuing cross-border IP litigation in India.
