1. Application form and photograph

Register in the Online Application System and complete the application form. The system gives you the option of uploading a photo. However, it has no negative impact on your application if you choose not to. 

2. Curriculum Vitae

Make sure your CV gives the Admission Committee a complete overview of your career as well as personal interests and relevant skills.

3. Motivation letter

A letter of 2-3 pages providing information regarding your motivation to participate in the program, your special interests, life experiences, accomplishments, goals, community involvement and any other information that might be helpful to the Admission Committee. We are interested not only in academic records and previous employments, but also in life experience. Tell us about you in your motivation letter. What have you done internationally and interculturally? What extracurricular interests, social engagements and hobbies do you have? Why is the Bucerius Master of Law and Business the best study program at this point of your life?

4. Writing sample

A 5-8 pages sample text, e.g. a research paper, thesis, research memorandum, office memorandum or other documents that provide us with an example of your writing skills in English. Preferably business or legally-related.

5. Transcripts and explanation of grading system

Official transcripts from all degree-granting academic institutions that you have attended. Original transcripts may be submitted in English, Spanish and French. All others must include an English translation. If available, please also submit your GMAT test score.

6. Statement of class rank

If no official class rank is available, please provide us with an estimate of your rank and a description of how you calculated it. If this in not possible, please attach a statement from the degree-granting university confirming that it does not use a ranking system.

7. Proof of English language proficiency

If English is neither your native language nor the primary language of instruction of your undergraduate degree, you must provide us with proof of your English language proficiency by submitting the test results of either a TOEFL, IELTS or CAE. The following minimum scores are required:

8. Recommendation letters

Your application must include at least two letters of recommendation from someone who can assess your skills and character, such as a (former) professors or a (former) supervisor. Both recommenders must fill in the assessement form below and write a letter of support. They may then send the recommendation letters by email to master@law-school.de or send it to you so you can upload it onto the online application system.

9. Financial aid

Please note that the financial aid application is a separate procedure and deadlines need to be met. The Bucerius Global Scholarship deadline is January 15 each year. Please follow the instructions given under Finances.
