Interim Relief in Arbitration: Measures, Enforcement and the Role of Courts, Tribunals and Arbitration Institutions

Interim relief is one of the fields of international arbitration which has undergone the greatest change over the last two decades and where the legal situation in the various jurisdictions differs the most.

Twenty years ago, effective interim relief could often only be obtained by state courts. Since then, the situation has changed considerably. The advent of the emergency arbitrator, the availability of ex parte relief and greater court support for measures ordered by arbitral tribunals have increased the attractiveness of arbitral relief.

Given the importance of interim relief in practice, the conference will cover the current status of interim relief in, and in relation to, arbitration proceedings.
