A trimester at Bucerius Law School
A limited number of spots is available each fall semester for students who do not attend one of our partner universities, but are enrolled at a university outside of Germany. Applicants will be considered based on their academic performance at their home university.
Advanced law students
In countries where law is studied at the graduate level (such as in the United States), applicants must have completed at least one year of law school prior to their arrival at Bucerius. In countries where law is studied at an undergraduate level (such as in the UK), applicants must have completed at least two years of their legal education. Priority is given to students who focus on business law.
Visiting students participate in the International Exchange Program in International and Comparative Business Law, which is primarily offered to students from Bucerius partner universities. Especially designed as a one semester exchange program, it takes place each fall from September through December and is taught in English by Bucerius professors as well as distinguished guest lecturers and practitioners from all over the world. More than twenty law courses are offered and students earn ABA credit/ECTS points for successful participation in the program. It is each student's responsibility, however, to consult their home university as to whether credits and grades earned at Bucerius are applicable towards their degree.
The current cost of attending Bucerius Law School as a visiting student is 4,000 EUR. This includes tuition, access to the law school's facilities, including the library, assistance with student services and the chance to participate in numerous extracurricular activities.
Visiting students receive the same services as exchange students from Bucerius partner universities. Find out more about what the International Office does to help you prepare your stay and about the services while you are at Bucerius.
