If you are interested in learning German during your stay at Bucerius, it is possible to enroll in a language course. There are five course levels available from Beginners to Advanced as well as Legal German. A short test during the Orientation Program will tell you which level is most appropriate for you. The course fee is EUR 160 which includes 20 lessons (2 x 90 minutes a week) taught by trained teachers of German as a foreign language. Students may opt to take the language courses for credit (1 ABA/2 ECTS) or as an auditor.

Bucerius has an agreement with the Colón Language Center, one of the oldest and largest language schools in Hamburg, which is conveniently located close to the campus. In accordance with this cooperation, you may participate in intensive German courses prior to the beginning of the Exchange Program, for a reduced price.

Exchange students are also welcomed to join (legal) language courses such as French, Spanish, Chinese and Russian offered by the Foreign Language Communication Department at Bucerius.
