Its modern facilities and its premium student services make Bucerius Law School a one-stop-shop for any international student. This means you are free to enjoy what you really came here for: a successful and fulfilling study experience and an inspiring time abroad.
Modern facilities with 24-hour access
Every student is different. Some prefer to study during the day, others are most productive at night. Some prefer to study at home, others crave the academic atmosphere on campus to concentrate on the material at hand and prefer to study in groups. Bucerius Law School supports each student and their personal study rhythm by granting 24/7 acess to a variety of facilities.
The Hengeler Mueller Library is open exclusively for students of Bucerius Law School. It is open 24/7 and provides choice selection of books, online publications and databases.
As a student of Bucerius Law School you profit from 24/7 access to the very modern Hengeler-Mueller Library equipped with high quality computer workstations and wifi-enabled printers and book canners. Additionally, there are a few further work stations and a printer available close to the coffee lounge.
As you will sometimes be asked to get together in smaller groups to work on an assignment or project, in addition to the lecture halls and classrooms, there are 20 small study rooms available for groups of up to five students.
A good place to be - even after working hours
Bucerius Law School does not only offer superior study conditions, it also supports the physical and mental well-being of its students through its caferia, gym, music and napping rooms. Students, faculty and staff can also make use of the on-campus Day Care Center and rest assured that their little ones are well taken care of and close by.
Even during intense study sessions you will always be well-fed! The campus cafeteria, also known as the Food Court or by its German name "Mensa", is open on weekdays between 11:30 am and 2:00 pm and offers four hot main courses (at least of one them vegetarian), a salad bar as well as several side dishes and desserts.
For breakfast, a snack or a coffee break in between classes, most students retreat to the cosy, newly refurbished Coffee Lounge. On weekdays the Coffee Lounge is open between 8:00 am and 7:00 pm and on Saturdays between 10:00 am and 2:00. Tuesday through Thursday, the Coffee Lounge turns into the campus bar between 7:00 pm and 11:00 pm.
The so-called "Gleiss Lutz Gym" is Bucerius' very own fitness room. Located underneath the Auditorium, the gym is available to all students for a one-time membership fee of EUR 50. The gym is open every day between 6:00 am and midnight. Shower facilities are also available.
A campus without music? No way. You will find many musical classmates at Bucerius Law School, which is why a rehearsal room has been set up in the basement of the South Wing. This is the place where the school's orchestra, big band, choir and acapella group meet to rehearse, but it is also available for solo musicians longing for a musical intermezzo between library sessions and lectures. The music room is equipped with lockers, in which you can store your instrument.
As different students have different study rhythms with some preferring to work at night or during the day, the Bucerius campus offers a napping room so that night owls can rest their weary eyes.
Bucerius Law School supports studying with children. That's why we have our very own bilingual Day Care Center right here on campus. Fore more information, please contact:

Discover the Law School Spirit
Studying isn't everything. Bucerius Law School offers a wealth of extracurricular activities to help students find a good balance between demanding academics and interesting, challenging and fun leisure time activities.
With the exception of the clubs and teams that require German language proficiency (such as mentoring a high school student or writing for the student newspaper), all other activities on campus are open to non-German-speaking international students as well.
Bucerius has sports teams in the following disciplines:
- men's soccer
- women's soccer
Once a year, these teams come together with university teams from all over Europe to compete in the Champions Trophy.
The school even has its very own campus gym under the auditorium. For a one-time payment of EUR 50, the gym and its shower facilities are available daily between 6:00 am and midnight.
