Where did you work before coming to Bucerius Law School?
I worked as a Business Development Manager in an oil and gas support services company providing unique repair and maintenance solutions. Prior to my recent role, I worked in diverse roles in various locations within the west Africa region and in Germany as well.
Why did you decide to study in Germany?
The decision was more towards the school (and program) than the country. I visited the Bucerius Law School a few years ago whilst on the “Afrika Kommt!” program and could not wait to be back. I found the Master of law and Business (MLB) program interesting and worth pursuing. The school being in Germany is the added advantage.
What makes the MLB program special in your opinion?
As a versatile professional with a curious mind, I find that the MLB program provides not only the knowledge of law and strengthening of one’s business acumen‚ but is valuable in establishing collaborations, intellectual exchanges, and other related synergies.
What are the biggest differences between Ghana and Germany?
People from Ghana tend to be indirect whereas Germans are quite direct in their communication style. Ghanaian culture revolves around communal values with focus on the extended family. It is a little different here in Germany where I see more focus on the nuclear family system. One key similarity, however, is that both countries have high regard for hierarchy.
