Program Fees

Tuition and living expenses

The tuition fee for each of the programs is set at EUR 1,900 and enables you to participate in all courses offered within the individual program (e.g., international business law program participants may follow six courses at no additional charge). 

Please note that program tuition does not include living expenses, which you can find detailed below.

Included in the tuition fee is a non-refundable down-payment of EUR 200 which needs to be paid upon acceptance to one of the programs. There is no application fee for the Bucerius Summer Programs.

Certain groups of applicants may be eligible for a discounted tuition rate or scholarship.

Living expenses

In addition to tuition, we recommend budgeting at least EUR 1550 for your stay in Hamburg; while all extracurricular activities are provided free of charge for participants, accommodation, travel expenses to/from Hamburg, etc. all come at an additional cost.

Please note that your own requirements may vary significantly and that this figure is simply an estimate.

All accepted students are required to pay a EUR 200 down-payment within one week of acceptance to the program. Your enrollment will be guaranteed only after you have paid the tuition in full via bank transfer which will be due 4 weeks after acceptance to the program.

Please note that you will be responsible for covering any international wire transfer fees incurred while making your payment.

We encourage you to speak with your financial institution to ensure that Bucerius Law School will receive the full amount due, i.e., that your payment takes into consideration any fees and fluctuations due to a currency conversion. Personal checks and credit cards are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Bucerius does not anticipate cancelling or significantly changing the programs. However, if it becomes necessary due to world events, inadequate enrollment or other unforeseen circumstances, all applicants and/or admitted students will be notified promptly and provided a full refund of all monies paid within 20 days of the date of cancellation or significant change. Students will be given an opportunity to withdraw from the program with a full refund of all monies paid if the program site is ever declared to be an "Area of Instability".

If you are unable to attend the program, you must submit a withdrawal notice in writing by e-mail, fax or post.

Cancellations will be refunded as follows:

Withdrawals submitted due to unforeseen circumstances such as health issues and family emergencies will be taken into special consideration and examined on a case-by-case basis.
