Prof. Dr. Edgardo Buscaglia, Senior Scholar in Law and Economics, Columbia University (USA), talks about his jurimetric analysis based on a sample of cases in 15 developing countries worldwide. It shows that the vertical economic integration of organized crime is fostered by specific legal violations of the United Nations' legal instruments as well as state failures and addresses organized crime and corruption within the public and private sectors.
