On the 17th November 2017, the 7th Autumn Conference of the Bucerius Center on the Legal Profession (Bucerius CLP) will take place on the campus of the Bucerius Law School, Hamburg.
On the evening before the conference there will be a Get-Together at the Übersee-Club in Hamburg, with a keynote speech and an opportunity for networking.
The significance of digitalisation for the legal market is not confined to the introduction of new and innovative technology in the workplace. The legal market is in the midst of deep-rooted change. However, many law firms and legal departments only see the challenges and risks presented by these developments.
The changes caused by digitalisation are far reaching: Artificial Intelligence is increasingly being put into practice, processes are changing, and standard business models are being called into question. Tomorrow’s lawyers need different skills. These transformations form the basis of the 7th Autumn Conference: Since the lawyers of the future will no longer work the way lawyers do today.
It is no longer sufficient for law firms and legal departments to merely “manage” digital change. Digitalisation opens the door to new possibilities and new business models. The speakers at the 7th Autumn Conference will explain through real-life examples, how it is possible, in the current fast-changing climate, to develop new strategies and thus take advantage of digital change.
