Professor Dr. Dana Beldiman
Academic Director and Founder
Professor Dr. Dana Beldiman is the Academic Director and Founder of the Center for Transnational IP, Media and Technology Law and Policy and Honorary Professor at Bucerius Law School. She also directs the Bucerius / UC Hastings Summer Program in International IP Transactions.
Beldiman serves as a Professor in Residence at UC Hastings (San Francisco, USA) and regularly lectures at CEIPI of University of Strasbourg. Her teaching and research are focused on international, comparative and policy aspects of intellectual property, as well as the issues confronting trademark, design and licensing law in a globalized economy. She is a partner of the law firm Squire Patton Boggs (San Francisco, USA), where she specializes in international intellectual property law and international transactions.
She is the author of numerous publications on topics relating to globalized intellectual property and is active in a variety of organizations.
Previously, Beldiman has taught at Santa Clara University School of Law (Santa Clara, USA), the Riga Graduate School of Law (Riga, Latvia), Humboldt University of Berlin and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Beijing, China).
She holds an M.A. degree from the University of Bucharest, a J.D. from UC Hastings, an LL.M. in intellectual property from Santa Clara University School of Law and a doctorate in law from the University of Bremen.
Beldiman serves as the Honorary Consul General of Romania in San Francisco, USA.
