To understand the importance and quality of legal services, judicial and extrajudicial dispute resolution and legal research and training in Hamburg, Rechtsstandorts Hamburg e.V., a society established in 2009 to increase the national and international visibility of the city as a center for law, partnered with the Hanseatic Bar Association to host the event "Shanghai Dialawgue 2015." The conference took place November 11-12 and was held within the framework of the trip to China by Hamburg First Mayor Olaf Scholz. The Dean of Bucerius Law School, Professor Dr. Dr. hc mult. Katharina Boele-Woelki, attended the conference and discussed topics with Chinese counterparts including trans-border scientific cooperation and the internationalization of legal education.
During the trip, Boele-Woelki visited Bucerius partner Fudan Law School and explored possibilities for further collaboration with Tongji Law School, an institution with which several joint projects are already taking place, such as the recent Comparative Law Conference on Capital Markets Law in China and Germany organized by Professor Dr. Rüdiger Veil.
The journey included an evening get-together with alumni, which was attended by several former international program participants. The group enjoyed receiving news from their second alma mater and exchanged among themselves over a meal.
