On May 15, 2017, Professor Hein Kötz, President of Bucerius Law School at the time of its founding, was honored in Paris for his contributions to the field of comparative law. The event was organized by the International Academy of Comparative Law.
The gathering also paid tribute to the merits of Mary-Ann Glendon (USA), Jean-Louis Baudouin (Canada), Xavier Blanc-Jouvan (France) and Rodolfo Sacco (Italy). Following a speech to recognize each individual—Professor Bénédicte Fauvarque-Cosson (Paris) delivered the address praising Kötz—the five legal scholars took part in a lively panel discussion focused on the future of comparative law; the President of the Academy moderated.
