Global Chairman and Chairman of Norton Rose Fulbright at Bucerius Law School

Visit from Sbu Gule and Stephen Parish

During his visit to the Hamburg office of Norton Rose Fulbright, Global Chairman Sbu Gule from Johannesburg together with his colleague Stephen Parish, Chairman of Norton Rose Fulbright in London, visited the Bucerius Law School.

The two gentlemen, accompanied by Dr. Klaus von Gierke, head of the Hamburg office of Norton Rose Fulbright had three hours to get to know the business-related  and international oriented concept of Bucerius Law School. In meetings with the university administration, representatives of the Relations & Development Department, the Language Department, the International Office, the Dean of the Bucerius Master of Law and Business Program (LLM/MLB) and South African students, the guests were given a deep insight into the educational training at the university.

In particular, the measures taken by the law school encouraging early awareness in the students of working in an international context attracted considerable attention.  According to the Attorneys experience, the Bucerius Law School is, with this concept, far ahead of other universities abroad. There are few universities that adequately prepare their students for the international aspects of working in global law firms. With 3800 lawyers globally, Norton Rose Fulbright belongs to one of the ten largest law firms in the world. The firm has been a sponsor of the Bucerius Law School since 2012.
