2022 is a very special year at Bucerius. For the first time since 2019, we are thrilled to welcome students from our partner institutions around the world back to our campus in Hamburg. Together with the 39 MLB/LLM students, they create a much more international atmosphere than the Bucerius community in Hamburg was able to experience in the last two years.
The 79 exchange students are taking over from 220 students enrolled in the German LLB program who are spending their mandatory exchange trimester at a record-breaking 84 partner universities in 30 countries around the world.
A tailor-made program
Over the next four months, our international guests will be participating in the tailor-made “Exchange Program in International and Comparative Business Law”. The program is organized with the needs of international students who may not speak German in mind. All classes are taught in English and are focused on skills and knowledge that are transferable back to the students’ home jurisdictions. Integration with the rest of the Bucerius community and Germany in general is supported through “German as a foreign language” classes “Introduction to German Law”, a buddy system with the LLB students remaining on campus and various extracurricular activities that include historical tours as well as socializing beyond the group of exchange students.
We wish all of our exchange students a memorable stay at Bucerius Law School and hope that they will return to their home countries as ambassadors for Bucerius, Hamburg and Germany in general.
The exchange program ends on December 16, 2022.
