Biography
Paul Krell was born in Oldenburg (Oldb) in 1983. After graduating from high school in Hamburg in 2003, he studied law from 2004 to 2009 in Osnabrück and Constance, followed by his legal clerkship in Heidelberg and the Second State Examination in 2011.
Paul Krell then worked as a research assistant to Professor Dr. Björn Burkhardt and his successor Professor Dr. Jens Bülte at the University of Mannheim. In 2014, he received his doctorate with a thesis supervised by Professor Dr. Lothar Kuhlen on the subject of "Embezzlement through staffing".
From May 2015 to March 2021, he held a Junior Professorship in Criminal Law at Bucerius Law School. Since April 2021, he holds the Chair of Criminal Law in a Globalized and Digitalized Risk Society at Bucerius Law School.
