Why did you choose to study abroad and why at Bucerius specifically?
I wanted to challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone. Studying abroad definitely seemed to be right up that alley. I chose Bucerius because of the courses that were being offered, and because of the overall structure of the program.
Would you recommend the exchange program to other students from India?
Definitely! The program’s flexibility not only allowed me to navigate the exchange at a pace which was comfortable enough for me (while stepping out of my comfort zone), but the social interaction part of the exchange was invaluable in more ways than one (it really helped that almost all our classes consisted only of the exchange students).
In what way was studying at Bucerius different than that at your home law school?
My home law school is a completely residential campus i.e., all of us necessarily live and function within the confines of our university walls. Since that was not the case at Bucerius, it personally made a huge difference because it allowed me to think of life beyond ‘law school’.
