Education & Study |

Where did you work before coming to Bucerius?

I was working in Nairobi Kenya, as the CEO of a Real Estate Construction company.

Why did you decide to study in Germany?

I decided to study in Germany since I had researched and found out that their education system was one of the best, having my nephews back in Kenya studying in a German school in the capital, their experiences were encouraging. I also felt that studying in Germany would give me great mileage and exposure to the European and international labor market.

What makes the MLB Program so special in your opinion?

The greatest thing about the MLB is the interdisciplinary nature of the course work. Through combining aspects of business in the fast-paced ecosystem with the law, the MLB Program provides essential knowledge to navigate the international market whether you are a lawyer or a businessperson.

What are the biggest differences between Germany and Kenya?

The biggest is obviously the language. The mode of study in Germany is also practical and well planned so that one can access study material ahead of the lectures. The professors are also accessible for further discussion on topics.

What’s an experience in Hamburg that is completely new to you?

Time management. Everyone here is always on time!!

ALL PORTRAITS

How do you like living in Hamburg?

The city is quiet and clean. The people are friendly and there is cultural diversity. I also like the fact that the city is green and there are a lot of activities to do both for adults and children.

You have studied both law and business management - What are your future career plans?

My desire is to integrate my skills and experiences both personally and professionally to be able to shape policy especially concerning access to financing for small and medium enterprises.

What advice would you give to future students coming to Bucerius?

Live in the present and take a moment to enjoy what each day brings. The Program is intense, please be kind to yourself.

Cynthia, Thanks for the interview!
