Legal Education in Israel

A lecture on Structure, Reform, and Interdisciplinarity in the legal education system in Israel. (In englischer Sprache)
Legal education in Israel has evolved from a rigid 1990s doctrinal monopoly into a dynamic, pluralistic system. The 1991 reform and the founding of the Haifa Faculty of Law introduced the 'Haifa Model,' which prioritizes interdisciplinarity by integrating economics and the social sciences. This approach spread nationwide, catalyzing a systemic shift toward less doctrinal, elective-rich curricula. Modern reforms focus on experiential learning, establishing legal clinics and thematic simulations as core academic pillars. By embedding AI literacy and practical skill-building, Israel now prepares agile jurists to navigate the complex interface of law, society, and technology.
