Alexander Blümel presents, as part of the IP Colloquium, ways to address misinformation and disinformation.

Disinformation and misinformation are not new phenomena. However, with the rapid development of artificial intelligence, they are gaining unprecedented scale, speed, and sophistication, ranging from the targeted dissemination of manipulative content via social media to the use of AI-generated content to reinforce certain narratives. The presentation will give an overview over the structure and dynamic of current large-scale disinformation campaigns and their implications for operational as well as decision-making processes while reflecting on possible approaches to contain and counter these threats at the national and international level.
