One Year Unified Patent Court, where do we stand?
Friday, 31 May 2024
June 1, 2024, marks the one-year anniversary of the launch of the Unified Patent Court (UPC). This significant milestone presents an excellent opportunity to conduct a comprehensive review of its inaugural year and contemplate the future of this unique new European legal system. We cordially invite you to join us for a high-level conference on the eve of the UPC's first full year of operation, where we will collectively assess, reflect upon, and deliberate the achievements and prospects of the UPC.
We are delighted and honored to announce that Dr. Klaus Grabinski, President of the Court of Appeal, will act as our keynote speaker. Additionally, judges from the Hamburg Local Division will be participating in this event. Thought leaders from academia, the private sector, and the judiciary will share their insights and perspectives with a diverse audience that includes in-house counsel, attorneys at law, patent attorneys, judges, and scholars — all of whom are directly affected by the functioning of the UPC.
The conference will delve into the most pressing issues and challenges encountered during the first year of UPC operations, including topics such as damages, SEP/FRAND, and preliminary injunctions. Presentations will also explore specific particularities of the regional divisions, as well as the utilization of the UPC case management system.
We look forward to receiving your registration by May 29th, 2024.
Participation is free of charge.
